Etan Patz - the Story Continues...

"Etan Patz - Where are You?," Acrylic and Mica Chip on Canvas, 30" x 40"

Back in 2009, I was inspired to create a painting of Etan Patz from a New York magazine article about the case. I had grown up in they New York City area and had remembered the case from childhood as it was widely pulicized. In addition, I was interested in this idea of fame gone wrong. Etan was made famous because he was kidnapped and possibly killed. A type of fame much different than the norm -- movie star, etc.

My painting, "Etan Patz - Where are You?" is on view at the Paul Robeson Galleries at the Rutgers Newark campus. The painting is part of an exhibit, "The Wicked Twins: Fame and Noteriety," that looks at an odd type of fame. The show is on view for a few more days. Check out my website for more of my work.
